Mangalore, April 23: Addressing the media persons in the press meet held on April 22,Monday Harsha Gupta,DC said in his speech that in view of  conducting smooth election process throughout out the district uniformly, department has adopted pilot model project.

He further said that  after discussing with all the departments/authorities concerned, department has arrived to the conclusion of introducing smart phone, walkie talkie, control room and MCMC samiti equally throughout the state for organizing hassle free election process in the state, he said.

Many circulars have been issued by district election officers in this regard and when all are busy with their respective duties, it is everybody’s duty to ensure that through returning officer’s frequent meetings and audio conferences, there should not be any room for lapses either of communication gap or of any other kind reported during election period, he clarified.

All the details about the permissions given for usage of vehicles, advertisements and holding meeting/rallies will always be available in the department and will help in the formation of shadow registers by the election observers, he clarified.

 Complaints and suggestions control room 1055 is kept open continuously for twenty four hours, he informed.

Master trainers and election officers training will be conducted and arrangements for the smooth functioning of election process in all respects will be made, he said.

If we get the same response continuously and Smartphone project is continued and implemented, there is no doubt of saying that we have succeeded in our efforts of introducing our pilot model project, he summarized.

Pushpavati Saxena, election observer, Rajkumar, Dinesh Goyal, Jagadish Patil, Mukhesh Kumar C Verma and all the election officers were present in the meet.
