Kundapur: A group from Chikkaballapura having come to Kundapur for tower installation few days back, decided to have fun swimming in the sea. One of them was dragged by the waves and was swallowed by the waters. This incident was reported on Thursday from nearby Koteshwara Halivalli in a place called Kinara.
The person by name Munishami (27) is missing and has not been traced so far. He belongs to a Malleshwaram based company of tower electricians.
This group of three had left Bangalore 10 days back and had arrived in Kumbasi in Kundapur for construction of the tower, they worked for a private company.
Two more friends from Kumbasi joined the three making it five, they had gone to swim in the sea. While three got into the sea two of them sat on the bank it is being said. Munishami is said to have dragged by large waves while swimming and there was no trace of him. Even though four of them shouted out loudly and searched hard they could not find him and it was of no use. Hearing their cries those living nearby arrived and searched till 2 o’clock in the night.
On Friday morning the news reached Kundapur police who arrived at the spot and conducted enquiry.
He had been working for 7 years in Tower Construction and was an experienced worker. They had been in the closing stages of their tower construction work for the private company in Kumbasi and on Saturday they were due to return said informed sources.
