Mangalore, March 28: MLC Monappa Bhandary criticized the statement given by DK Congress candidate Janardhana Poojary for assuring to implement the PCPIR Project in the district, after being elected in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at the press meet held at BJP Election Campaign Office on March 27,Thursday, he said that the assurance of congress candidate shows that the Government is planning to implement the hazardous projects like PCPIR and transform the district into a barren land.
Bhandary also said that BJP has been opposing the project right from the beginning.
Countering Poojary’s statement of providing job opportunities to the local youths, Bhandary said that even MRPL and SEZ have assured to provide job opportunities but they have gone back on their words.
MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik, former deputy mayor Shakeela Kava and others were present.
