Mangalore, Mar 27: State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader rubbishes the allegations imposed against him of sanctioning a BDA site to a Trust in the name of his brother, which was already sanctioned Kukke Subrahmanya Temple Trust, using his political influence.
Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Woodlands on March 27, Thursday, he said that the allegation was just an attempt by the BJP to tarnish his image.
Speaking on the case, he said that Nasima Fareed Memorial Charitable Trust, run by his brother had applied for a BDA site and has also received notification by the BDA in 2012-13. The site was reserved for the mentally and physically challenged category and his brother’s trust which is meant for the differently abled persons was qualified for it.
Around six others including the Temple Trust had applied for the site and had to pay the deposit which is refunded later. If the temple trust was actually qualified then he would ask his family members to return the site to temple trust, he said.
Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, Eshwar Ullal, Sadashiv Ullal, Praveen Chandra Alva and Mithun Rai were present.
