Mangalore, March 24: Former Sri Ram Sene member Dinaker Shetty who joined Congress party at the Congress Party Workers Convention at Town Hall on March 24, Mondy later backout when the congress members complained about his past.

District Congress president-in-charge Kodijal Ibrahim said that charge, Kodijal Ibrahim announced that Advocate Dinaker Shetty will not be included in the party considering the present situation.

A day after controversial activist Pramod Muthalik’s entry into the BJP became a huge head-ache for the party, it seems to be the Congress’ turn to face embarrassment for a similar induction today.

The Congress’ Mangalore unit took into its fold Dinker Shetty who was part of Muthalik’s Sri Rama Sene, accused in the 2009 Mangalore pub attack case.

It is learnt that during the attack Women were dragged by their hair, slapped and manhandled by Sri Rama Sene activists and Dinker Shetty was the legal advisor of Sri Rama Sene at the time of the attack  and even had a case filed against him.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president Dr G Parameshwara siad that he is unaware of Dinakar Shetty’s induction into the party. He said that his induction has not been authorised and need the approval of Pradesh Congress Committee and its officials.

Yesterday, the Karnataka unit of the BJP had welcomed Muthalik into the party, only for the decision to be withdrawn by the BJP’s central leadership in five hours.
