Mangalore, Mar 24: Number of Journalists take part in the fun-filled games and sports events organized Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Union and Mangalore Press Club at the St Aloysius Pre-University College grounds on March 23, Sunday.
Renowned body builder Raymond D’Souza inaugurated the event and said that such kind of games and sports must be organized for journalists to keep them physically fit and remain efficient in their duties.
Physical Instructor of Sri Gokarnanatheshwara College Purushottam Poojary and Udayavani Bureau chief Manohar Prasad participated as the chief guests.
The association also honoured outstanding sports personalities like Naveen Kumar Jogi, Uma Bhagyalakshmi, Mari Hilda D’Souza and trainer Narayana S on the occasion.
Various games including banana eating contest, ice cream eating contest slow bike racing, passing the ball, cricket, needle and threat were conducted for the journos.
DK District Working Journalists’ Union president PB Harish Rai, Press Club president Ramakrishna R and Secretary Srinivas Indaje were present.
