Health Concern Foundation(R) organized a Geriatric care session at Nymphasadan – A Senior Citizen’s Home, which is a unit of Ursuline Franciscan Sisters.
Dr Kiran Kumar PK, Prof and Head, Dept of Psychiatry , A J Institute of Medical Sciences and Founder, Kiran Rehabilitation Center was the speaker for the occasion.
Dr Kiran Kumar , president, mangalore psychiatry society, highlighted the problems of old age pertaining to Depression, Dementia and other co-morbidities. He suggested Relaxation techniques which can be very well utilized to battle disease.
answering some questions raised by the audience, Dr Kiran Kumar taught them how to identify the starting signs of depression and at what level help would be needed.
