Mangalore, Mar 20: All the eight accused who have been arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping of two medical students, blackmailing them and forcing them to indulge in the sex act have been charge sheeted by police. The incident had taken place on the night of December 18, 2013.
Pertaining to sexual harassment, all the eight accused have been booked under the Indian Penal Code Section 376(D). They have also been charged with kidnapping, dacoity, extortion, criminal intimidation and attempt to murder. The accused are Safan Hussain, Sammer, Imran Altaf, Nawaz, Iqbal Harris, Abdul Rauf, Nissar Ahmed and Araf.
The charge sheet contains 564 pages and includes analysis of the video and audio with regard to the videographing of the incident by the accused in their mobile phones. Details pertaining to the identification parade with video conferencing have also been included in the charge sheet.
CWC Chairperson and Advocate Asha Nayak is one of the witnesses in the case.
