Mangalore, Mar 12: Interim President of District Congress Ibrahim Kodijal said that District Congress Committee District Congress Committee will hold Padayatras across the district as a part of upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at the press meet held at District Congress office on March 12, Wednesday, he said that Padayatras will be held in Mangalore, Mangalore North and South Assembly constituency limits from Thokkottu to Kuloor on March 14 at 9 am, Bantwal constituency on March 15, Moodbidri on March 16, Belthangady on March 17, Puttur on March 18 and Sullia on March 19 and Congress Lok Sabha candidate B Janardhan Poojary will participate in all the Padayatras.
He also said that as directed by the KPCC, Congress has appointed three spokespersons one each from Hindu, Christian and Muslim faiths including Kallige Taranath Shetty, Ivan D’Souza and Shahul Hameed, with an aim to give equal opportunities to people from all religions.
He also said that selection for the post of Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation will be finalised by Wednesday evening.
Congress leaders MLA J R Lobo, Ivan D’Souza, Mohammed Masood, Vijaykumar Shetty, P V Mohan and others were present.
