Mangalore Airport : Customs officials seize 816.450 grams of gold from a Kozhikode passenger

Mangalore, March.9 : The Customs officials arrested a passenger  of Kozhikode and have seized 39 gold pieces totally weighing 816.450 grams, valued at Rs 25,22,830 at the Mangalore International Airport on March 9, Sunday.

The arrested has been identified as Muhammad Rafeeque Kizhakkante Purakkal from Pallikandy in Kozhikode carrying gold two unbranded AC Adapters and two DIC brand car power supply transformers in an Air India Express Flight IX814 from Dubai.

The search and arrest operation was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Customs Krishna Kumar Prasad and produced the arrested before the magistrate.

Further investigation will be held under the guidance of Commissioner of Customs D Purushottam.
