Udupi; Mar 08: Addressing the celebration organized as a part of women’s day organized on behalf of “Power businessmen in Udupi” held under the auspices of Udupi-Manipal Rotary and Lions Club Southern Star,Udupi on Mar 08,Saturday in PPC Prajna auditorium, Veena Vivekanand,curator of women and child welfare department said in her address that the feeling of superiority and inferiority, difference-opinion will begin at house only in the life of woman. Programmes are there even for Mangalamukhies. Mangalamukhies are being neglected in the society. Facility of bank loan and subsidy will be there even for Mangalamukhies.
She further said that in Brahmavar too Mangalamukhies apart from beauticians, they themselves engaged in various other professions. If, women encounter or face any problems, difficulties, they can take the help by calling helpline on 1091, she said.
She also said that government has brought many programmes for children and women.Sthreeshakthi programme,Sant,Karnataka women welfare programme, working women’s hostels ( construction grants),financial aid to law degree women, special unit for the prevention of social plagues, women’s protection act from the domestic violence, 2005’s Implementation, legal literacy camp, Karnataka Marriage Registration Act,1976’s implementation, Self-support- programme for the women who are in difficulties, to help to prevent the abuse of alcohol and drugs, State government’s working women’s hostels and among other facilities can be availed by women, she added.
Under rural development and Panchayat Raj programmes, village, taluk and district provinces can avail the benefit of the programmes, she said. Thousands of beneficiaries from 1046 Anganawadies availing the benefits of the use of nutritious food, she said.
