Mangalore, Mar 8: The students of St Agnes College out a silent march on the theme, ‘Walk for the Girl Child’ from the College campus to Dr Ambedkar circle Balmatta on March 8, Saturday.
The students dressed in white, organized by the women’s cell of the college in commemoration of the International Women’s Day.
Addressing the gathering, Nivedita Mirajkar, member of Mangalore Toastmasters’ Club urged the students to break their silence and make use of every opportunity they obtain.
She also said that men had conquered the world, since they were given opportunities and if given opportunities, even women will move into the right path.
People must always try to provide sustainable opportunity to the under privileged women than giving charity.
College principal Dr Marie Prem D’Souza felicitated four students for their outstanding achievements in different fields.
