Udupi; Mar 01: Vinaya Kumar Sorake, minister for urban development and district in charge met the victims of Varahi project in Ulluru 74 on Feb 28, Friday afternoon.
He met local women victims like Ulluru Dodmane Ratna Poojarthi, Kanaka Poojarthi, Sadhu Poojarthi and Basava Koraga on the occasion and listened to their problems. Due to the effect of daily blasting, which is taking place in the area, house is trembling, walls cracked, can’t sleep in the night, no drinking water and so far not received any kind of compensation. Please do come once to our house and see, Ratna Poojarthi pleaded with minister by shedding tears while briefing their problems.
Perturbed with this, minister Sorake not only took the officers for task and told that he will come back after one week, before that all the problems should be solved, he warned. Without responding to the problems of victims and ignored, officers concerned will be transferred to waterless area, he warned again.
