Mangalore, Feb 26: Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy appoints Konkani activist Ronald Sebastian Castelino known as Roy Castelino as the president, as per the announcement made on February 26, Wednesday.
Roy takes charge of the post, after Kasargod Chinna was forced to resign in June 2013, when Congress Government came into power in the State.
Roy has also worked as the former President of RACHANA, Catholic Chamber of Commerce & Industry, former President of Lions Club, Kulshekar, Trustee of Sandesha (Foundation for Culture and Education), President of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan. He is the Director of Kalaangann, The Konkani Heritage Centre and the executive Member of Mandd Sobhann, World’s Premiere Konkani Cultural Organization.
Roy is the son of late Thomas and the late Jessy Castelino of Makale, Kulshekar and he is the chairman of Roy Constructions.
