Udupi;Feb 21: Addressing the district level Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja’s Jayanti day celebration as a main speaker, organized under the aegis of district Kannada and cultural department,Marata Swabhimana Jagrthi Prathistana,Udupi district, Karnataka Kshatriya Marata Maha Vokkoota Udupi-Mangalore and Kshatriya Marata Samaja Udupi district in 80 Badagubettu village’s Rajeev Nagar government combined high school on Feb 19,social activist Prakash Malpe said in his speech that if Indians have saved their self-esteem and identity, for that Shivaji’s struggle only the reason. Shivaji was an incomparable patriot and self respected person. By fighting against Mughals, he saved Hindu religion, which was on the verge of destruction.
Shivaji had a great respect to women and was very clever person. In order to fight against invaders, forest people were given good culture and training and built a powerful army. For this, Shivaji’s self- respect’s education is only the reason, he said.
Upendra Nayak, Udupi district panchayat’s president has inaugurated the function by offering flower garland on the portrait of Shivaji.
