Mangalore, Feb 21: Dakshina Kannada Athletics Association in association with Karnataka Athletics Association will organize Nitte Mangalore ½ Marathon and 10K on February 23, Sunday.
The event will be sponsored by Nitte University, Indian Overseas Bank and Provident.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Feb 21, Friday, Arun Rao said that the marathon will be held in various categories such as 3km, 5km, 10km and 21km which will commence from Mangala Stadium at 6.00am.
City Police Commissioner R. Hitendra will flag off the 5km marathon, while Zilla Panchayat CEO Tulasi Maddineni wll flag off 10km race and will participate in 5km race.
Around 10,000 participants are expected to participate in the marathon and all will be all the participants will be given with participation certificates.
Stephen Dias, DV Mitra and Venugopal were present among others.
