Faith Foundation members visit Sri Venkataramana Temple for soil collection

Mangalore, Feb 20: The team members of Faith Foundation visited Sri Venkataramana Temple, Car Street, to collect the holy soil of Tulasi Katte in the temple on Feb 19, Wednesday.

Faith Foundation has accomplished ‘Mission Kaladi to Kedar,’ a road journey from the birth place of Adi Guru Shankracharya, Kaladi in Kerela to Kedarnath in collecting soil from all spiritual places connected with Adi Shankara.

The members will collect soil from 163 places belonging to 20 states in India rebuilt the idol of Adi Guru Shankracharya and his Samadhi which was washed away in the Uttarkhand deluge.

The team will travel 20,000 kms and cover Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Orissa, West Bengal, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, J & K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for recreation of Shankaracharya Samadhi Sthal at Kedar which got completely washed out during recent flash flood and nature’s fury.

They will complete their mission and reach Kedar on June 15 to mark the first anniversary of the Himalayan Tsunami, and offer the holy soil at erstwhile Samadhi place to honour Adi Shankaracharya.

 Jayaraj Pai, Adige Balakrishna Shenoy, trustees of the temple were present on the occasion.
