Mangalore, Feb 15: Police have arrested a woman from Bejai at Kottara Chowki on February 14, Friday for robbing gold from another woman after convincing her to eat Holige laced with intoxicants on Sep 8, 2013.
The arrested is identified as Sujatha alias Suma (42), a resident of Bejai New Road.
Reportedly, Sujatha had befriended Sridevi of Bejai Sankaigudde with a reason of searching for a house for rent in the area. Sujatha had even visited Sridevi’s house and offered Holige to her. Unaware of her intention, Sridevi consumed it and fell unconscious. Later, making use of the situation, Sujatha escaped with her two bangles and two finger rings.
The arrest was made by the Urva police.
