Mangalore, Feb 13: The Customs officials have once again arrested a passenger carrying 3 ten tola Gold Bars and 3 Gold strips weighing 466.600 grams at Mangalore International Airport on February 12, Wednesday.
The arrested is identified as Aboobackar Siddique, a resident of 5/ 252, Kottakkani house, kottakkani, Madhur in Kasargod district, Kerala who had arrived from Bahrain by Air India Express flight IX 820 in the evening.
The officials have seized the smuggled gold worth Rs 14.20 lakhs from the passenger concealed in one coffee mug, one Led emergency light, one LED lamp and one LED switch light packed in a carton box.
The passenger has been taken into custody and the investigation is on.
