Kasargod, Feb 5: The Kumble police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder case of Balige Aziz (38), resident of Paivalike, near Anekal on February 4, Tuesday.
The arrested are identified as Ammi alias Hameed (30), a resident of Paivalike Ambikana, Shafi (23) of Kalai, Mohammed Rafeeq (23) of Salethur, Taleki Shafi alias Chotu Shafi (23) of Paivalike while traveling in a car. The police have also seized Iron rods and three machetes used to commit the crime from a place in Paivalike. The clothes worn by them during the murder were also seized.
It is learnt that Balige Aziz, who was accused in the murder of Youth Congress leader Abdul Jabbar in 2009, was killed by a gang on the Paivalike-Chevar Road on January 25, night.
The Police have registered cases against 18 persons in connection with this murder.
