Gangolli: Green signal from central government to Rs 102 crore Break water constructions-legislators Gopala Poojary

Kundapur; Feb 04: Gopala Poojary, Byndoor constituency’s legislator has announced that central government has passed an order to sanction Rs 102 crore Gangolli port’s break-water project in Byndoor Vidhana Sabha constituency. The request was sent by state fisheries department.

Recently a delegation under the leadership of fishermen and local prominent leaders went to Delhi and explained the difficulties, problems faced by the fishermen of one of the traditional and prime fishing ports in Gangolli due to the absence of break water with Oscar Fernandez, minister for transport and highways and K.Jayaprakash Hegde, MP and through them matter was brought to the notice of union agricultural minister Sharad Pawar and appealed for the sanction of the project. Sharad Pawar has promised them about sanctioning of the project.

On Feb 03, Monday with the green signal of union government for the project, the many years’ demand of the fishermen of the district has been fulfilled.

Gopala Poojary, Legislator expressed his gratitude to union minister Oscar Fernandez, K.Jayaprakash Hegde, chief minister Siddaramaih, Vinaya Kumar Sorake, minister for urban development and district in charge, Minister Abhayachandra Jain and leaders of fishermen association for their co-operation in sanctioning of this historical project.
