Uppinangady man files complaint against cop for misusing his documents for Mobile SIM

Mangalore, Feb 3: A man from Uppinangady on Saturday February, had filed a complaint against the policeman of Uppinangady for allegedly misusing his documents to obtain a SIM card for his personal use, submitted for passport verification.

Complainant Shabeer, a residing near Uppinangady Math had lodged a complaint against the policeman on duty with IGP (western range) Prathap Reddy for misusing his document.

It is learnt that, Shabeer had submitted his application at the passport office in Mangalore, which was later forwarded to Uppinangady police station for verification. The official also had asked him to submit three passport size photographs, copy of his ration card and signature of two witnesses.

But later it is known that the policeman by name Laxmeesha of Uppinangady station had allegedly used Shabeer’s photographs and ration card copy to obtain Idea SIM card from Balaji mobile shop.

Shabeer urged IGP to conduct the unbiased investigation against the policeman and the owner of the mobile shop owner.

It is also said that the Uppinangady police officials have refused to file a complaint against the policeman. IGP who accepted the complaint assured to take action against the culprit.
