Suvarna Karnataka Seva Award to be conferred on Multi faceted Puttur Suresh Nayak

Mangalore, Feb.1: Multi faceted Puttur Suresh Nayak has been chosen for the Suvarna Karnataka Seva Award for his service to society and for setting records with his memory power.

The award will be conferred on him at an award ceremony to be held at Mysore Engineer’s hall on February 2.

Being differently-abled person, M Nayak has been fighting for the rights of differently-abled persons and has been organizing awareness campaign for the past 20 years along with various programmes comprising of Bhajans, tiger dance, Yakshagana, Krishna Vesha, dramas with jokers and others with presenting over 1000 programmes in and around the district.

Mr Nayak had also initiated a public awareness campaign for the differently-abled in October last year with the aim of bringing them into the mainstream.

He was also a recipient of Limca Book of Records in the year 2013 for recalling 518 telephone numbers in 72 minutes, Asia Book of Records for the longest tongue and India Book of Records for recalling 204 telephone numbers in 30 minutes.
