Udupi: Fake passport; accused sentenced

Udupi; Jan 31:  Udupi additional JMFC court in its verdict has sentenced Sayyad Mallar alias Sayed Musthafa, a resident of Pavoour village in Mangalore, accused in fake passport case.

It was said that a case was registered in Shirva police station in connection with fake documents such as transfer certificate and ration card produced to passport office in order to obtain passport. At the time of applying for passport, he had produced fake address as resident of Shirva, behind Syndicate bank near Jamaliya masjid, Shirva and on the basis of that address even his ration card was issued and simultaneously he had obtained duplicate transfer certificate from Hindu higher primary School,Shirva on the basis of that ration card.

It is said that this case was investigated by then Shirva police station superintendent K.R.Naik and accordingly charge -sheet was produced in court. The advocate Sunita, who conducted an inquiry sentenced him a simple imprisonment of 6 months and slapped him of Rs 1000 as penalty for possessing fake passport and one year simple imprisonment for producing false informations to passport office. On behalf of government, senior assistant government prosecutor Prakashchandra Shetty argued the case.
