Mangalore, Jan 30: Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim urged the concerned department to issue an order declaring the MRPL premises as non-flying zone since MRPL and Mangalore Airport are located close to each other.
DC was speaking at the meeting held with the airport authorities at the DC office on Wednesday, January 29. He also said that they are still following the strategies planned in 2006 with regard to the disaster management and now there is necessary to renew it since the facilities among department and system have changed. He also directed the officials to provide information related to disaster management within the next 15 days.
Tulsi Maddineni, CEO of Zilla Panchayat said that the necessary funds for the disaster management measures will be collected from top 10 companies in the district every month along with appointing a dedicated personnel in this regard.
