Mangalore, Jan 27, 2014: Sureshchandra Shetty, president, Panambur Goods Shed and Godown Workers Union and president of Hind Mazdoor Sangh (HMS) clarifies that his organization has always served the interests of 215 workers from Karnataka from past 30 years.
Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Woodlands on Jan 27, Monday, he said that the organization had employed 100 local people in Panambur Railway Goods Shed, with an aim to give importance and job opportunity for the locals, but most of them had quit the job due to the work load, and now only 15 locals are working.
Shetty said that a group of locals began demanded to provide the employment for the locals in the same establishment, while the same group staged protest showing objection to the employment of these labourers, he stating CITU leaders Sunil Kumar Bajal and Vasant Acharya, who were detained by police near his residence.
Mohammad Rafi, Raghuram Shetty, H.N.Naik and Yamunappa were present at the press meet.
