Udupi;Jan 26: Inaugurating the ‘25th National traffic safety week’ organized jointly by Udupi district administration, police department and traffic department on Jan 25,Saturday in Udupi board high school premises, Vinaya Kumar Sorake,minister for urban development and district in charge said in his address that extension work of prime Agumbe Ghats road, which connect Shimoga and Udupi will be inaugurated this year.
Udupi district panchayat president Upendra Nayak,CMC president Yuvaraj,vice president Amratha Krishnamurthy,DC M.T.Reju,district police commissioner Dr.Boralingayya,M.B.Canara bus owner’s Sangha’s president Rajavarma Ballal,regional transport officer Arun Kumar Singh, additional SP Santhosh Kumar were present.
Thereafter Walkathon starting from service bus stand, passing through K.M.Marg, Court Road, Jodukatte road and concluded at Ajjarakadu town hall. Scouts and Guides students participated. Traffic inspector Vishwanath Nayak welcomed the gathering and hosted the programme as well.
