Brahmavar: Create awareness about traffic rules to Students; Udupi additional DC Kumar

Udupi; Jan 22:  Inaugurating the ‘25th National road safety week-2014’ organized under the auspices of district department of transportation, police department and Brahmavar GM Vidhyaniketana public school, held on Jan 21, Tuesday in G.M.Vidhyaniketana public school premises, Kumar, additiona DC has said in his address that human life is precious and therefore while moving in roads, everyone should be very careful. Awareness about the traffic rules should be created for everyone including students, he said.

He said further that traffic rules, not only drivers, those who use road, those who travel on the road, everyone should know traffic rules. On an average one lac people die in road accident in the country and 10% of the people, will die in the accident due to usage of mobile phone while on driving. The drivers who are holding permanent licenses are dying more as compared to the drivers, who are holding temporary driving licenses, he added.

District transport officer Arun Kumar Singh has released traffic week’s brochures and Udupi lion’s president Divyarani, has released traffic rules CDs.Assistant Transport officer Felix D’Souza and Brahma Kumari Saurabha were present.

Students created colored paintings about traffic rules were displayed in the exhibition.Prakashchandra Shetty, Chief of Vidhyaniketana institution welcomed the gathering and teacher Jyothi hosted the programme
