Mangalore, Jan 22: Social activist M G Hegde said that all like-minded environmental organizations along with general public will hold a protest at Freedom Park in Bangalore against the Yettinahole or Netravati River Diversion Project on January 28, Tuesday.
Speaking at the press meet held on Jan 22, Wednesday, Hegde criticized Moily for his statement of discussing on the project with the experts, if this is true, he must reveal the name of people he has discussed on the project, since he has been trying to implement a disastrous project by cheating the people of Coastal region.
Hegde said that with the intention to appease the people of Chikkaballapur for the coming LS poll, Moily and the Government is moving ahead to implement the project, without giving the clear report of its merits and demerits.
During the protest that various people from Dakshina Kannada District including MLAs and leaders from the District irrespective of their political affiliations will take part in the protest.
The people from Hassan, Sakleshpur and Chikkaballapur are also opposing the project since they know that the project will not benefit, he added.
Suresh Shetty, V R Puthran, Anitha Shivaraj, Shashikala, Dinesh Shetty and others were present.
