Mangalore, Jan 21: Minister for sports and youth affair K Abhaychandra Jain honours specially abled Danan Saldanha and Moideen Thazman, students of St Agnes Special School who represented Indian cricket team in the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Regional Games held in Newcastle, Australia.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the state government has sanctioned funds to all special schools in the state from the current yea.
Jain also said that government has sanctioned the amount of Rs 15 lakh each for all the special schools in the state and steps will be taken to increase the fund in the next annual budget. The special student who excels in sports field will be given cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
He also distributed Rs 65,000 each to Danan, Moideen and Rs 25,000 to coach Narayan for their achievement.
