Belthangady: Areca thieves nabbed; stolen goods worth Rs 10 lakh seized

Belthangady, Jan 17, 2014:  Belthangady Police have arrested two persons in connection with the several theft cases reported from Puttur and Belthangady Taluks. Stolen goods including areca, a Tata Venture van and a Maruti 800 car all valued at Rs 10 lakh have been seized from them.

The arrested are Hameed (38) of Padangady and Mohammad Isac(28) of Kuvettu villages.

The two  were wanted in connection with the thefts in Maddadka and Totattadi Milk Producers Society. They had also reportedly stolen areca from Aravind Traders of Nelyadi, A One Traders in Alankar and the shop of Isac of Kakkepadavu.

The two were arrested on suspicion at Guruvayanakere and interrogations of the duo revealed that they were notorious thieves. Investigations are in progress.
