Month long protest by Tamil labors: Finally DC heed to their grievances, assures positive steps

Sulia,April 14: Tamil workers, who were on “Sathyagraha”for the past one month for their many demands which includes caste certificates  and employment , had met DC at last, who  has gone to Sulia to review the arrangements being done for the forthcoming state assembly election, which will be held on May 5.

As per the instruction of Harsh Gupta, DC, Chandralingam and Shivkumar Kaudichar-leaders of Tamil labors, met DC and explained their grievances.

After heeding their grievances, DC, in his capacity as DC told them that although this issue is not coming under the jurisdiction of  his department, he assured the leaders that he will write to the Chief secretary of the government to instruct the already formed High power committee to act in this regard for the justice of the Tamil people.

Leaders also requested DC to see that as the caste certificate is one of the mandatory requirements in the school at the time of admission, we have to continue with the same old caste certificate and requested him to instruct the concerned authorities about the same.

DC has promised the leaders that after studying all your grievances in detail, Gram Panchayat and concerned authorities would be instructed to see that you will not face any problems and also you will be invited for the KFDC authorities meeting when it is held.

Dr.Harish Kumar-City’s corporation commissioner, Prasanna-Puttur Vice commissioner, Venugopal-Tahsildar and among others were present.

On the basis of DC’s assurance a meet will be held on April 14, Sunday to decide future course of action, leaders said.
