Mangalore: Jan 11: The present young generation is not aware of the value of holy cow, hence the Govanithashraya Trust will hold ‘Go Matha Ratha Yatre’ to create awareness on protection of holy cow from Sharavu temple on January 14, Tuesday.
Addressing the press meet held at Press Club on Jan 11, Saturday, Dr. P. Ananthakrishna Bhat, secretary of Govanithashraya Trust said that there was a day when our ancestors and ancient sages used to worship the holy cow, but today there is rise in cow slaughter, which must be stopped. Hence the yatra will be organized to create awareness among the people about its significance.
Bhat said that the procession will kick start at Sharavu temple at 8.30 am and move towards Car Street via New Chitra, Alake, Kudroli, Mannagudde and conclude at Urva Marigudi temple.
Manohar Tulajaram, Shridhar Bhat and Dinesh Pai were present among others.
