Mangalore, Jan 9: S M Rashid Haji, City-based builder takes charge as the new chairman of Dakshina Kannada district Wakf Advisory Committee at Wakf District Office on Jan 8, Wednesday.
After taking charge from outgoing chairman of the advisory committee Usman Haji, Rashid Haji said that as the chairman, he aims to unite everyone.
He also assured to work with responsibility and utilize his position to work for the development of Muslim community and not for personal profit. The factionism will be just limit to Kerala and not bring it to Mangalore, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, outgoing chairman Usman Haji said that earlier Wakf committee was not functioning legally. The common factionism in the district is higher compared to other districts in the state. Further the problems of this district can be easily solved if the state advisory committee members permit.
Khateeb Sadakatullah Faizi of Zeenath Baksh Jumma Masjid performed the Dua.
Taqwa Masjid Khateeb Abdurrahman Khamil Saqafi, Central Jumma Masjid administrative committee member Basha Thangal, Jamiyyatul Falah – Riyadh unit advisory committee member Syed Saali Thangal, advocate Suleiman and Wakf officer Aboobaker and others were present.
