Mangalore, Jan 4, 2013: There can be a social transformation when each and every individual is determined to fight corruption in the society, said former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde.
Participating in a UGC sponsored national seminar on ‘Parallel Economy and Money Laundering,’ organized by Canara First Grade College and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on January 3, Friday, Justice Hegde said the menace of corruption can be wiped out from the society when one pledges against resorting to corruption and resolves to discourage corruption.
He said there will be no corruption or injustice in the society when an individual gives importance to values in life. It is only a person who earns wealth legally who can lead a contented life, the former Supreme Court judge said.
People have a strong will power to eradicate corruption and this will help in the growth of the nation, he further added.
Vaman Kamath, Chartered Accountant presided over the function. Prof. Satish Bhat, Principal of the College and others were present.
