Kundapur;Jan 01 : During BJP government was in power, in the meeting held in the past, many a times, issue of naming the Kundapur corporation Main road with the names of national leaders like Atal Bhihari Vajapayee,Lal Bahdur Shastri,freedom-fighter Bhagat Singh, Jhansi Rani Laxmi Bai,Veera Sarvarkar and native literateurs like Jnanapeeta award winner Dr.Shivarama Karantha and K.LKaranth was discussed by the people,organizations,Sangha’s .But since collective decision could not be taken in this regard and subsequently, meeting was adjourned.
In spite of all the old decisions were lying pending, in the ordinary meeting, which held on Dec 31, Tuesday, the unnecessary issue, which was not in the agenda, of taking the name of Yadthare Manjayya Shetty’s name, congress members were discussing about naming of his name to Kundapur main road. Reacting sharply to the discussion of congress members, BJP members said that when the naming of old names has not been christened yet, there is no need of debate about the new subject.
But congress members, in view of creating a new dispute, by twisting their earlier statement, now they have reported the matters to news papers that BJP is objecting to name of Yadthare Manjayya Shetty to name Kundapur main road, which is very painful to digest, they said.
Personally, for us and BJP party, we got a boundless regards and respect towards reverend Yadthare Manjayya Shetty.By clarifying the stand of BJP, members of Municipal Corporation, demanded the congress members to stop mis-guiding the people with wrong propaganda and focus on some responsible and constructive works.
