Udupi; Dec 30: Participating in the cycle distribution programme to the students of high schoolchild on Dec 30, Monday in Padubidri Ganapati high school, Vinaya Kumar sorake, minister for urban development and district in charge said in his address that English medium in district’s government schools will start from next academic year from the first standard.
He further said that course is being offered already in English medium in 36 schools of the district for the students after 6th standard. In order to Kannada schools to remain permanently in the state and to attract the students,programmes like free cycle distribution, uniform distribution,Bisiyoota programme,Ksheerabhagya and free education programmes have been implemented by the government, he said.
In the programme, school headmaster Shree C.V.Manjappa, Secretary Shree P.R.Navada and administrative executive Shree S.L.Karanik were present.
