Mangalore, Dec 30: The officials of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence have arrested a resident of Bhatkal on Dec 28, Saturday, at the Mangalore International Airport for carrying huge amount of cash of Rs 10 lakhs.
The arrested is identified as Abdul Rasheed (40), who was on his way to the departure lounge and the DRI sleuths found cash in his trolley bag arrested him at 11.5 pm.
The officials found the currency of 500 and 1000 hidden in confectionary products.
Reportedly, the huge amount of cash taken to abroad is exchanged in foreign exchange counters.
