Kundapur; Dec 28: After inaugurating the computerized passenger reservation system (PRS) in Mookambika railway station on Dec 28, Saturday MP Raghavendra said in his address that in order to increase the revenues of the Konkan railway, the discussion will be held with railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge under the leadership of union transport minister Oscar Fernandez to bring railway wing from Ullal to Thoukoor.under the jurisdiction of Konkan railway. This will not only increase the revenues of the Konkan railway but also it would be useful to carry out the development of the railway stations in this region.
He said that it has got the privilege of having for the first time in the country that E-grade railway station is getting this PRS facility. This will facilitate the passengers of this region. The main duty of the department is to provide facilities to the devotees of Kollur Mookambika and added that in the coming days, honest and sincere efforts will be made for the development of railway stations in this region.
Inaugurating the newly constructed railway station, which was built at the cost of Rs 10 lac from MPs fund of union minister Oscar Fernandez, legislator Gopal Poojary said in his address that measures will be taken for the release of Rs 2.34 crore grant-in-aid supposed to receive from the state government for the development of this railway station.
