Mangalore, Dec 29: The Hindu Jagarana Vedike staged protest rally near the Sri Rajarajeshwari Siddi Vinayaka Temple on December 27, Friday, demanding to take strict action against the accused of kidnap and blackmail of two medical students at Derlakatte.
Addressing the protestors, Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Gurupur Vajradehi Mutt said that such an incident has created fear among the minds of students and parents. The police officials must take this case seriously and punish them.
He also warned to stage violent protests if the concerned authorities fail to take action on these culprits. He also criticized three ministers from the district for remaining silent on the issue.
Hindu Jagarana Vedike State Convenor Satyajith Suratkal, Bhajrangdal Convenor Sharan Pumpwell and many others participated in the protest.
As a part of protest, a bike and car rally was also taken out from Konaje to Talapady.
