Mangalore, Dec 27: The district unit of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged a protest in front of DC Office on Dec 26, Thursday, condemning the alleged kidnap and blackmail of two medical students by a gang of 11 recently.
Addressing the protestors, DYFI state president Muneer Katipalla said that district administration and police have failed to control the moral policing in the district.
Criticizing political representatives, U T Khader, B Ramanath Rai and Abhayachandra Jain has assured the pubic to remove the menace of moral policing in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, but no measures have to taken to tackle it.
Leaders came to power by the opportunity provided by the public. Even though they are capable to clear the instances of moral policing in the district, they remained silent.
He also warned the youths to avoid the philosophy preached by existing saffron groups and brigades in the name of religion to follow anti-social activities.
