Karkala; Dec 22: After thrown open the new buildings of Donderangadi primary health centre and Kadthala health sub centre to the public, built at the cost of Rs 1 crore by Udupi district panchayat health and family welfare department on Dec 22, Sunday, Dr.M.Veerappa Moily.Union minister for petroleum, said in his address that through various oil companies, he is prepared to provide adequate grant for the overall development of Karkala city and asked to submit the list of necessities.
He further said that central government is spending lot in crores for the development of health sector and in the best interest of child and mother, people should see that delivery is done in government hospitals.
During the occasion he said that Rs 1 crore to Karkala government hospital, Rs 18 lac for Shirlal Basadi, Rs 21 crore for Mangalore Lady Goshen hospital, Rs 2 crore for the construction of town hall in Karkala and for Mahamasthakaabhisheka special grant will be provided, he said.
U.T.Khader, minister for health and family welfare said in his speech that by modernizing the existing government hospitals in the state, efforts of reducing the differences of gap between public and government hospitals are being taking place. In this context dialysis centre in each taluk level hospitals, extension of health insurance to APL ration card holders, one, 108 ambulance in the jurisdiction of 60 thousand people and for Asha workers state government’s additional encouragement money etc projects are being implemented, he added.
Presiding over the function, legislator V.Sunil Kumar said in his speech that as there is shortage of staff in Karkala primary health centre, immediate appointment process should be held and appealed for the grant-in-aid for the new health centre in Muniyal.Contractor Manjunatha Bhat has been felicitated on the occasion.
