Mangalore, April 12: It has been reported that Mangalore International Airport has reached another milestone in terms of registering a growth in passenger traffic i.e. by crossing one million passengers , another feather to the cap.
As per the statistics available for the current financial year, the number of total passengers who traveled through Mangalore International Airport has crossed one million as compared to the last financial year.
This is the indication of major breakthrough and great achievement within a short span of time after getting a label of International status.
As per the report, nearly 8.78 lac people have traveled in the last financial year, registered a total increase of 17.06% in the year 2012-2013.
A total figure of 1,21,427 arrivals and 1,46,521 departures(2,67,984) has been recorded on the international flights (7.12% increase) and 3,84,753 arrivals and 3,79,900 departures in domestic flights (21.8% increase) growth has been reported
In the current financial year, an increase of 10 % is expected as opined by J.T.Radhakrishna, Director of the airport.
