Families of gas tanker tragedy to get help from HPCL.- Assures Moily

Mangalore,April11; It has been reported that M.Veerappa Moily-Union Petroleum Minister has assured maximum  possible help which includes compensation to the families of the deadly LPG tanker tragedy occurred on April 9,Tuesday, at Perne, near Uppinangadi.

He promised that the state run Hindustan petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) will ensure all possible help including compensation.

The people who have lost their houses and shops as well as the injured will also get help, minister promised.

It has been reported that minister has already had a talk with DC of Dakshina Kannada district in this regard and asked for a proper assessment of the damage to the properties so that proper compensation can be provided.

According to Minister, HPCL will provide all assistance to reconstruct the houses destroyed in the catastrophy. He said the oil companies have been asked to set up the much need fast track Rehabilitation Centre which can come to help at times of any eventualities on the Bangalore-Mangalore highway.

One centre was supposed to be set up near Gundia has been pending implementation since long time.
