Mangalore, Nov 30: A worm was found in the mid-day meal provided at a government school near Dr Ambedkar Circle here on Friday November 29.
The meals for the school are prepared and supplied by Iskcon under Akshaya Patra scheme.
On Friday, meals were supplied to government girls’ high school by Iskcon as usual. A girl spotted a worm in her plate of rice and brought it to the notice of a teacher.
The teacher then brought the situation to light, and intensified the matter claiming that worms were found in mid-day meal at the school even on an earlier occasion.
Iskcon officials who arrived at the school assured that measures will be taken to ensure better hygiene and cleanliness. As the worm was big, they surmised that it was among the vegetables.
