Kasargod, Nov 18: A day long state-wide harthal on Monday Nov. 18, called by the Left opposition to protest an order on implementation of the Kasturirangan panel report on conserving Western Ghats environment, has virtually confined people indoors.
Across the state, shops and markets were closed and barring private vehicles, no public transport vehicles were operating service, leaving many stranded at railway stations and bus stands. Government bus services also not there.
Including Kasargod taluk other places like Uppala, Kumble and other places also affected by the bundh. All the shops, market, bus services in the town were shut down. The services of Karnataka and Kerala state buses also not there. But few local buses were there.
But the passengers who travelling from and to Kasargod- Mangalore were aced trouble without KSRTC buses.
