Udupi: Cathedral Shokamata church celebrates “Sarva Dharma Diwali” on Nov 06th; main attraction of the celebration, a giant sized clay oil-lamp

Udupi;Nov 04: Addressing the press reporters in press meet held at pathrika Bhavan Udupi on Nov 04th,Monday Alphonso D’Costa,convener of Sauhardha Samiti informed in his address that on account of Diwali, a “Sarva Dharma Deepavali” will be celebrated on Nov 06th in cathedral Shokamata church Udupi on November 6th,Wednesday.

 Honorable Dr.Gerald Issac Lobo, Udupi Christian Dharmapranthya’s Dharmadhyaksha will preside over the function. Udupi Pejavar Mutt’s senior seer (Swamiji) Vishveshatheertha Swamiji, Udupi Shirur Mutt’s Laxmivaratheertha Swamiji, Udupi Jamiya Masjid Moulana Abdul Rashid Rehmania, CNI jubilee Church Udupi regional president Rev.Fr.Goldin Bangera,Shokamata church’s main Dharmaguru honorable Fred Mascarehnas and among others will convey a Diwali greetings in their speech.

Prior to the commencement of the programme, a large sized an oil lamp, made ​​of clay soil (10Ft area breadth and 4.5 feet tall) will be brought in procession from Udupi Karavali junction to Shokamata church and will be installed there. This will be the main attraction of the programme, he said.

As a part of the programme, Goodu Deepa (Nestled light) exhibition, Rangoli exhibition, variety cultural entertainments and attractive, spectacular busting of fire crackers will be organized.

Rev.Fr.William Martis Udupi Dharmapranthya’s, inter- religious dialogue director, Nityananda Volakadu, Janab Budan Basha, Lesley Cornelio were present in the meet.
