Mangalore, Oct.30: Urging the government to get back the order issues to extend the timings of the Anganwadis from 1:30 to 4:00 the anganwadi workers of the State will organize a march to the capital called Vidhanasowdha Chalo on November 19th said, the President of Dakshina Kannada Anganwadi Workers Association Vishalaakshi.
Addressing the press meet on Wednesday Oct. 30, she said that until April 2011 the Anganawadi Centres were scheduled to be open from 9:30 to 1:30. But now it have to be kept open until 4 PM in the evening which is unscientific she said.
The children admitted in these centres are of the age group 3 to 6 years. If they are kept in the centres for more hours they are deprived from their mothers care. And also it is hard to manage the children when the workers are appointed to election duty she added.
She also alleged that after completing the election this is the sixth moth, till now we didn’t get a penny for the pre election duties we done and also the payment also less.
To inform the government about the problems of anganwadi workers the organization will conduct a march called Vidhanasowdha Chalo on November 19th Vishalakshi said.
The secretary of the association, Chandravathi, Latha Ambekallu, Aruna D, Jayalakshmi BR were present at the occasion.
