Mangalore, Oct 29: On the occasion of its silver jubilee, Shanthi Prakashana, Mangalore will hold a month-long campaign ‘Literature for Peace’ in the state in the month of November. The programme will inaugurate on Nov. 4th at Town Hall said senior litterateur and president of the committee Dr Yerya Laxminarayana Alva.
Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesdayhe said that as part of the celebrations, Shanthi Prakashana, the publishing house, will conduct a mega book fair, exhibition, seminar, literary discourse, multi-lingual poetry meet and programmes for women and children from November 4 to 7 he added.
Central petroleum minister M. Veerappa Moily will inaugurate the Book Exibition. District in charge minister B.Ramnath Rai will inaugurate the Vision Expo.
State health minister U.T.Khadar, fisheries minister Abhayachandra Jain and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will release the books.
The MLA’s of D.K J.R.Lobo, Moiddin Bava, Vasanth Bangera, Shakuntala Shetty, the member of state Wokf board Y. Mohammad Kunji, Ibrahim Kodijal, Unity Health Complex Chairman Dr. C.B.Habib Rahman, former minister B.A. Moiddin, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Muslim Central Committee president K.S.A. Masood, the chief secretary of Shanthi Prakashana Gulam Maula Bangalore, Welfare Party of India President Akbar Ali Udupi, Jamiyathul Falah district president Saduddin M, Salih, I.Hind state secretary K.M Ashraf and other members of the committee will participate in the programme.
