Karkala; Oct 21: Addressing the Hebri zone level Kucchur Belanje village’s farmers and agriculturist special meet held on Oct 20, Sunday at Belanje Kucchur’s Herga Vittala Shetty’s government high school, K.Pratapachandra Shetty, President of Udupi district farmer’s Sangha and Vidhana parishat member said in his address that I shall try to work beyond my capacity to serve the district farmers, agricultural labours, who are under serious distress.
He also said that responding to their demands at every step, the demands will be met, compensation is provided and various major demands will be fulfilled through government, he added.
He also informed in the meet that farmers have become directionless due to various impediments such as forest department’s new deemed forest problem, revenue additional requests, land acquisition problem, wild animals nuisance, monkey problem, delay in distribution of facilities from agriculture and horticulture department,repudiation,delay in approval of Akrama-Sakrama.
He further said that with regard to all these problems, step by step, well organized manner, the problems will be discussed with concerned authorities and ensure that suitable remedies, projects will be available within stipulated time period, he added
Continuing his speech, he said that discussion in this regard has already been made and progress is possible only when facilities, projects are available on stipulated time period. In this connection, Raitha Sangha has been already opened in the district to carry out the works success fully, he said
Efforts are being made to construct a giant dam to Seethanadhi and to solve the problem of water in the Hebri region.
He also said that farmers had to face lots of problems due to the stoppage of Varahi project for the last 34 years and protest will be staged to draw the attention and pressurize the government for the completion of Varahi project at the earliest possible. He expressed his happiness over the successful functioning of Kundapur Raitha sangha and now stepped into Karkala taluk through Hebri Belanje.
